This whisky's got a lot happening – first sip hits with zests and sunshine, feels bright. The oak comes through strong, but I'm not buying all this oak, it's a bit much for me. There's a tannicity that's like black tea, with a bitter edge that lingers. I get hints of caramel and flowers, like violets and lavender, which soften it. It's big enough to stand all this tannicity, I suppose. Tastes a little better as I go, with more action, and oddly reminds me of buckwheat crepes or rye. 🌅
