Poured a dram and it’s got that light amber, like a decent tea you’d brew for five minutes. Smells like you’ve ripped open a family-pack of jelly babies and beans and stuff – quite sweet, malty as it should be. But underneath there’s a bit of paper and dry leaves, almost like old library books. The name’s a little lousy to say out loud, honestly. Taste-wise, it’s a bit wishy-washy at first. Short and drying finish, really. I get peelings, maybe some citrus zest? And then… hmm, many kinds of plums come to mind, just a mixed box. It’s big in France, apparently, but here it feels a touch underpowered. Wish it had more oomph – 43% vol. works so much better for these flavours. There’s a faint floury texture too, like when you bake and dust the counter. Not bad, just… a gentle one. 🤔
