Just been trying this one. Colour's a lovely full gold. Nose is very herbal – eucalyptus, camphor, mint, menthol, aniseed – loads of herbs. No peat, just a gorgeous genuine natural vanilla sweetness, like marshmallows. Tastes very simple when unreduced, but the quality's high. Honey, yellow plums, fresh fruits, not complex at all. There's a faint soapiness, probably from the newish oak. Add water and you get more herbalness, a little sugary, and the finish is quite long. It's got that Japanese modernity vibe, a proper Bauhaus whisky. No real further development, but the perfect vanilla stays. A bit more standard than some, but I like it.
