Had a dram of this deep gold beauty tonight. Honestly, at 30 years of age, it's got a proper rich and creamy vibe. First sip gives this excellent fruity attack, lots of citrusy lemon and sweet marzipan, almost like a lot of mead with a sprinkle of cinnamon. 🥃 But blimey, the oak is just a bit too loud after a while. Gets a tad plankish, almost like chewing on pencil shavings with that drying tannicity and faint sourness. Still a very high quality dram with a lovely long finish, though I reckon the stuff from the 1980s was rather better. Quite nice for a quiet evening.
