Starward 2018 4 Years Single Malt Whisky

Starward Whisky was founded in 2007 by David Vitale in Melbourne, Australia, under the mentorship of Bill Lark, the godfather of Australian whisky. Situated in the urban heart of Port Melbourne, this modern distillery has revolutionized Australian whisky by embracing the country's dynamic climate and world-class wine industry. Starward exclusively uses Australian barley and predominantly matures its whisky in locally sourced wine barrels—particularly Apera (Australian sherry) and red wine casks that previously held Shiraz, Cabernet, and Pinot Noir. This innovative approach, combined with Melbourne's wildly fluctuating temperature (often experiencing four seasons in a day), accelerates maturation and creates uniquely flavorful, fruit-forward whiskies. The brand's signature expression, Starward Nova, exemplifies this philosophy, offering a vibrant, approachable profile with red berry notes and spice. Starward has positioned itself as a food-friendly, modern Australian whisky designed for contemporary palates and culinary pairing.
