Sipped this dram and got a mellow peppery kick with hints of liquorice allsorts and marzipan, a whisper of banana and coconut, quite clean and simpler than I expected – feels very close to the 1990 vibe 😊

Bloody hell, this dram’s such a nice easy sip 🥃 You get that bright lemony hit mixed with bergamot first, then soft marzipan and cream cheese sweetness, plus hints of bitter almond and vanilla. It’s a tad more commercial than that 1990 release it’s very close to, marginally fruitier and leafier too, but overall simpler, more sweets than fruits. Little pops of fruit drops, soft banana notes, faint white wine tang, even a touch of cut cactus freshness to cut through the cream. Coconut lingers in the background, there’s a light peppery kick at the end, and it’s got that medium, cleaner finish perfect for a casual weekday pour, no faff needed.

Nose is a curious mix – sweet vanilla and cream cheese upfront, with a hint of bergamots and coconut. There's something almost like liquorice allsorts in there, but not quite. The palate opens with bananas and fruit drops, then shifts to marzipan and bitter almonds. It's a bit peppery, maybe from some cut cactus? Not sure. Medium body, slightly cleaner than expected, but a tad more commercial than I’d usually go for. The finish is leafier than I anticipated, with a lingering sweetness that’s more like white wine than bold fruits. Very close to the 1990s style, but marginally fruitier. Could do with less sweets and more complexity, but it’s alright for a casual dram. 🥃

First sip got this nice coconut and vanilla thing going on, very smooth and clean. Kinda reminds me of white wine actually, that crisp quality you know? There's a bit of lemony citrus mixed with some bergamot, feels quite refreshing tbh. The fruit notes come through but nothing too heavy - marginally fruitier than I expected 🍋 Getting some peppery kick in the middle, and weirdly a touch of bitter almonds? Not bad though, adds a bit of depth. The leafier, herbal side is there too, almost like cut cactus if that makes any sense lol Finish has this cream cheese smoothness with a hint of Jell-Os sweetness. Feels a tad more commercial I guess, simpler overall compared to some older bottlings. Very close to the 1990 vibe actually - that classic easy-going character 🥃 Not gonna lie, pretty enjoyable for a casual evening pour. Nothing mind-blowing but solid stuff.
