Took a sip and immediately got hit by this tart, lemony sharpness – like crunching raw rhubarb first thing in the morning. There’s a crispness to it, almost sauvignon blanc-like, with green melons and white apples dancing around. The chalky note gives it a clean, mineral edge, and it’s surprisingly coherent, not too wild. A tad rounder on the mid-palate, but still very fresh and pure – reminds me of those misty walks through damp chalk fields back home. Just a wee doughy whisper underneath, nothing overpowering. Proper lovely dram this, medium-bodied and vibrant.

Feels a bit like a crisp sauvignon blanc, actually, with that lovely acidic edge. There's a nice chalky minerality to it, almost like licking a clean pebble after rain. Then a touch of sweet-sour preserved plums comes through, and the faintest hint of cider apples in the background. It's got this weelie doughy side too, like the smell of fresh bread dough, which balances all that fruit and freshness. Really clean and coherent throughout.
