Just had a dram that glowed deep gold, reminded me of toffee and cinnamon rolls straight out of the oven. There’s a nice spicy kick – gingerbread, cloves and a bit more pepper in the finish – plus a whisper of menthol that keeps it fresh. The PX influence gives those rich sultana and dried apricot notes, like a Christmas cake that’s been swimming in sherry. Overall it’s rounded, a bit raw distillate edge but not leathery, and it just feels good, like a proper treat. 🥃

Deep gold in the glass, rich and rounded. First hit’s all toffee and cinnamon rolls, then a wee kick of chillies and cloves—just enough spice to keep it lively. Swims around the tongue like a proper PX finish, but there’s this mystery Islay whisper at the end, like it’s playing hide and seek. Orange notes pop in, then pumpernickel and gingerbread, almost like Christmas cake but not too heavy. No muscat cloying here, just a touch of menthol to freshen it up. Surprisingly balanced, and that double-whammy of spice and sweet? Works a treat. 🥃

Deep gold in the glass, eh? 🥃 First nosing, you get pumpernickel and cloves, with that PX finishes edge making it spicier than usual – rich and rounded, though. Reminds me of Christmas cakes and muscats, maybe a dash of sultanas. There's a double-whammy of Unicum and Kümmel in there, oddly workin'. Tastes like millionaire shortbread with toffee and dried apricots. Surprisingly balanced, even with marginally rancioty notes from old solera butts in small casks. Pure PX, sure, but also a touch of caraway liqueur. Aftertaste's got more pepper and wee touches of menthol – pretty long, really. Feels good, reeks of quality and smartness. A bit of mystery, like catchin' Carole Bouquet on Pantelleria, Sicily. Would pair a treat with Mexican food or cinnamon rolls. 😊

Just cracked open a new one tonight—wow, the nose hits you with this lovely jasmine and chamomile thing, almost like a fragrant tea 🍵 Then there's a deep, dark fruitiness underneath, like a rich fruit cake that's been soaking in sherry. You can really tell it's been in those old casks. Taking a sip, it’s immediately warming and spicy—ginger cake springs to mind. It’s got this incredible, chewy texture, like a thick, fudgey sauce coating your mouth. There's even a savoury umami edge there, kind of like miso or something. Not flashy, just solidly satisfying. The finish? Long and warming, with those wood spices lingering and a whisper of old leather and pencil shavings. It feels hefty and rounded in the glass—a proper winter dram. Really impressive weight to it. I’m getting a hint of green pepper too, which is a fun twist. Another sip, for sure. 😋

闻着就像走进面包房，暖暖的姜饼和肉桂卷香气，还夹着点太妃糖和圣诞布丁的甜腻。尝起来更有趣，先是一波扎实的香料感——丁香、黑胡椒，甚至有点像香料面包刚出炉时的冲击，但转眼就被雪莉桶那种深色水果蜜饯的味道包裹住了，像无花果干和杏脯。 口感挺饱满的，有点老陈酿木头的扎实感，但完全不闷。结尾那个隐藏的艾雷岛风格悄悄冒头，一缕细微的泥煤烟熏，接着是更多的黑胡椒和一丝姜的辣，像个小惊喜。余韵挺长的，留着甜香料和橙皮的影子。 喝着感觉挺惊喜的，各种味道闹腾又和谐，冬天晚上来一杯正好。✨
