Wow, just had a sip – that deep amber colour is lovely. Nose is fantastic: citrus marmalade, ginger, and a touch of rubber? Oddly nice, like unsweetened herbal teas. Tastes of figs and cloves, reminds me of the best Mars bar ever with flowered fudge. In short, the sherry comes through with earthy tones, and a bit of ham cooked in orange juice? Hmm. On the palate, liquorice and cinnamon mints pop up, with tart blood oranges and sappy oranges for zest. Balance is perfect. Finish is long and dry, with bitter chocolate and drier spices – none of that cloying sweetness. Fan-tas-tic! I reckon it'd benefit from twenty further years of bottle ageing. Like mulled wine vibes with a chartreuse twist. Ginger and maraschino linger too. 😊
