Lovely clean dram, quite sherried but not too much. I get orange liqueur, marmalade, cherries and a wee bit of raspberry, with rose water and rosehip tea floating about 🌹 The oak feels pretty active, giving cinnamon, ginger, pepper and star anise, plus a touch of liquorice. No burnt match or rubbery thing at all, which is nice. Long, tidy finish with lemon balm and gentle spice — honestly, very much my sort of pour.

Well, poured myself a dram last night. Honestly, the smell hit me first – so rich, like a best Mars bar ever melted down with some figs and that mulled wine spice. Deep amber colour, looked proper inviting. Took a sip, and you know, it was all there. Got a bit of that chewy liquorice and maraschino cherry sweetness right at the start, then it shifted. Felt a bit like sipping on good, unsweetened herbal teas, you know, that earthy, slightly bitter edge. A whisper of ginger and cinnamon mints followed, kind of warming. Kept thinking it had a real star of whiskydom balance. The finish? Long and dry. Left a last note of bitter chocolate and, oddly, a lovely memory of ham cooked in orange juice from Sunday roast – that sweet-savoury thing. A tiny touch of rubber crept in, but not in a bad way, just interesting. Honestly, gave me that feeling of a late-harvest gewürztraminer, all complex and lingering. Really enjoyable one. 👍
