Pale gold in the glass, and straight away I’m getting loads of malt, toffee, Ovaltine and a bit of Guinness-like darkness. Then it drifts into tarte tatin, maple syrup, honey cake, speculoos and fudge 😋 There’s a funny earthy side too, mushrooms, fern, flints, even a wee touch of gunpowder. Gets dry and sour like thick sour beer, but with Turkish dried figs, dates and black nougat keeping it cosy. Really long finish, malty and cakey, even better as it sits. Lovely stuff.
