Glugging this pale gold dram, I get a medium‑length run‑out. Right off the start there’s a whiff of menthol and a bit of hay, then the nose turns bu ttery, like fresh mashed potatoes with a dab of oil. There’s an apple compote sweetness that reminds me of a rich Belgian beer, and a cheeky banana note that sneaks in. The palate is a mash of yeasty, barley‑y stuff, a touch of tobacco and vanilla, with an extra sweet oak layer that feels a bit varnishy. It drags on with buttery‑ish vibes, a hint of earth and sweet sweets in the back. The cask was more active than I expected, but overall it’s not great – just a quirky, comforting sip. 😊
