Old Ballantruan 15 años Single Malt Whisky

Old Ballantruan is the heavily peated expression from Tomintoul distillery, located in the heart of Speyside's Ballindalloch estate. This distinctive single malt stands as a rarity in a region where unpeated whiskies typically dominate. Crafted using heavily peated malted barley, it delivers a robust peat reek balanced by Speyside's characteristic elegance. The range includes both a no-age-statement bottling and a refined 10-year-old, each presented at 50% ABV without chill filtration. Tasting notes reveal vibrant zesty citrus, creamy malt sweetness, and layers of bonfire smoke, with hints of vanilla and oak spice. The name honors the historic settlement of Ballantruan, situated on the distillery's western grounds, connecting this modern peated malt to its geographical heritage.
