Lovely warm dram 🥃 Getting honey, soft spice, a bit of oak and dried fruit. Smooth enough, with a wee peppery kick at the end. Cosy stuff for a chilly evening.

GlenAllachie Distillery, nestled in the heart of Speyside, represents one of the most remarkable success stories in modern Scotch whisky. Acquired in July 2017 by whisky legend Billy Walker and his partners, this previously overlooked distillery has been transformed into an award-winning single malt brand through meticulous cask management and traditional craftsmanship. Under Walker's guidance, GlenAllachie launched an impressive portfolio of vintage single cask releases in early 2018, followed by a carefully curated core range including 10, 12, 15, 18, and 25-year-old expressions—all non-chill filtered, naturally colored, and bottled at either cask strength or 46-48% ABV. The distillery's visitor center opened in May 2019, offering two distinct experiences: 'The Wee' tour featuring a simplified distillery walkthrough with three drams, and 'The Connoisseur' tour providing comprehensive access with five drams. Production highlights include an exceptionally long fermentation period of 160 hours, annual output of 100,000 liters of heavily peated new make (80ppm) for the MacNair's Lum Reek blend series, and a unique triple casking strategy at 63.5%, 68%, and 72% ABV. With a design capacity of 4 million liters but operating at just 700,000 liters annually, GlenAllachie prioritizes quality over quantity across its 16 warehouses (2 dunnage, 2 racked, 12 palletized) and specialized equipment including a 9.4-ton semi-lauter mash tun, six stainless steel washbacks, two additional Caperdonich washbacks, and two pairs of unusually wide stills equipped with traditional worm tub condensers.

Gotta say, this one’s got a real kick to it. First sip hits with this smoky peat thing, like bonfire nights in autumn, y’know? Then there’s this honey sweetness that creeps up, but not too cloying. 🍯🔥 Bit of vanilla and maybe some dried fruit? Like raisins or something. Finish is long, warming, with a touch of spice. Could be cinnamon or ginger, hard to tell. It’s bold, not for the faint-hearted. If you like ’em robust, this’ll sort you out. Just don’t rush it. 🥃

Just had a wee dram of this one. Nose? A bit smoky with some sweet vanilla, maybe a hint of apple 🍎 Palate's smooth, not too fiery, touches of honey and a gentle spice 🔥 Finish lingers like a cozy hug, warmth stays for a bit 😊 Lovely for a quiet night in. Cheers! 🥃

Right, settled in with a wee dram 🥃. Colur is proper gold, like honey in the sun 🍯. Nose is warm... vanilla and maybe a bit of oak? Taste is smoth, no harsh bite at all. Got that spicy kick later on 🔥. Finish lingers nicely. Definitly one for a quiet evening. Cheers 🍻.
