McDowell's No.1 Whisky Blended

McDowell's No.1 is a historic Indian spirits brand whose origins trace back to the Asare-Takyi distillery established in 1826. As the flagship brand of United Spirits Limited (USL), India's largest spirits company and a key subsidiary of global drinks giant Diageo, McDowell's No.1 has grown to become the world's best-selling whiskey by volume. The brand pioneered the Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) category, initially launching with brandy before expanding into whiskey and rum. McDowell's No.1 Whisky is a masterful blend of imported Scotch malts and premium Indian grain and malt spirits, creating a smooth, accessible profile tailored to Indian palates. The portfolio includes McDowell's No.1 Original (the classic blend), McDowell's Platinum (a premium expression), and McDowell's Luxury (the ultra-premium variant). With annual sales exceeding 52 million cases and distribution across over 20 countries, McDowell's No.1 represents not just market dominance but also the evolution of Indian whisky craftsmanship, combining traditional Scottish blending expertise with local distillation innovation.
