Just had a dram that’s proper unusual, not easy going down but leaves a rather long finish. Gives me a tickle on the tongue with its grassier kick, like sunflower oil mixed with green tobacco and charcoal smoke. Not extremely sexy, but the way it balances bitter beer sharpness with custard sweetness is oddly tempting. The fruits are there too, though they’re hiding behind this oily, golden haze. Rather long and a bit austere, like licking a lemon peel left in the rain. Chincona adds a strange, earthy twist. Definitely not your average dram – tricky, but I’d neck it again 🥃
