Just had a dram that’s proper full-bodied, but not in an over-the-top way. There’s this plain and pure barleyness to it, really clean—like someone’s stripped it right back to the grain. The texture’s got a fat mouth feel, almost fattish, but it’s dry too, like a leaner, more austere cousin to something like Jägermeister but without the cloying sweetness. No wine influence here, and no woods getting in the way, which lets the herbs shine—a wee bit of sage, maybe some borage, though it’s not overpowering. The mentholy earthiness lingers, and I’m getting notes of pumpernickel, proper Alsatian kougelhopf, even a hint of panettone. It’s all 100% on the distillate, and it’s superb. Reminds me of something crisp and honest, the way whisky used to taste before everything got too fancy. A proper sip, that one. 🥃

Feels like a big fresh slice of panettone with a bit of proper kougelhopf on the side, then that clean barley thing comes right through. There’s a wee herbal turn too — sage, borage, a touch like a fatter, drier Jägermeister, but still quite plain and honest. Medium length, easy enough, nicely bready and barley-led 😊

Quite a clean, barley-led dram, no oak getting in the way at all. Feels medium but nicely plump, with that fattish, dry herbal thing a bit like a grown-up Jägermeister. I get wee herbs, borage, a touch of sage, then fresh panettone and proper kougelhopf vibes. There’s a little white-wine freshness, though really it’s all pure barley and distillate. Slight menthol earthiness at the end, tidy and rather superb 🙂

Feels quite pure and barley-led, almost like a mature barley eau-de-vie, with no wood getting in the way. I get fresh panettone, a bit of kougelhopf, then wee herbs coming back, sage and a touch of pumpernickel. Medium weight but with a lovely fat feel, drier than expected, a bit like a fatter, drier herbal liqueur vibe. Quite austere, but honestly rather superb 😊

Oh, this whisky's got a real punch! Smokey vibes remind me of a rainy hike 🌧️, then sweet toffee notes pop up 🍬. Hints of burnt caramel and maybe some herbal bits too? Really warms the soul on a cold night. Cheers! 🥃😊 Wait, there's a lovely fruity twist at the end – apples or pears? Can't quite tell. Smoots the whole thing out nicely.
