Whiskyspace Notes 2221

Had a dram after work, quite young but surprisingly long on the finish. It started with bright orange and peach notes, like a bowl of fresh nectarines and a bit of orange zest. Mid‑palate the cornflake‑like bite and a hint of thyme tea came through, then a caraway‑y spice that made it a touch spicier than I'd expect. There was a mellow caramel and butterscotch vibe, a whisper of aniseed, and a subtle milk‑chocolate richness that reminded me of a kougelhopf with jam. A faint applejack note and a warm amber glow lingered, and the finish reminded me of modern Cognac – smooth but with a hint of rye that felt a little too much. All in all, a very good, moderately spicy dram that pairs nicely with a few pastries. 😊
