Whiskyspace Notes 1410

Right, so I've been sipping on this one tonight and honestly, it's got a lovely gold colour in the glass. First thing that hits me is this vanilla-y sweetness, almost like a woodruff syrup or liqueur my nan used to have. There's definitely a bourbons influence going on with the casks, you can tell. The nose has this pleasant hazelnut coffee vibe, reminds me a bit of Starbucks actually 😂 And there's cinnamon and a touch of sweet rum in there too. A tiny bit of nail polish on the nose if I'm being honest, but nothing off-putting. On the palate it's got ripe banana, pineapple, some macadamia nuts, and a bit of sesame coming through. The cherry note is nice, maybe on the citrus side too. The wood is a tad too pronounced for my liking though – could've done with some more time to soften the impact a bit. That said, sweet woodruff lingers nicely on the finish. Medium length, decent balance overall. It's really good honestly, just wish the wood was a touch more integrated. Would happily pour another dram 🥃
