Whiskyspace Notes 1799

Quite an unusual one this, honestly. First thing I got was this grassy, almost herbal thing, a bit like green tea but with more going on. Then it opened up into these fruity notes — kinda like a mix of watermelon and freshly squeezed oranges, with a bit of grenadine and cranberry juice thrown in. Really funnily fruity actually 😄 There's a nice zesty vibrancy to it, feels very interesting on the palate. A hint of white wine character too, which caught me off guard. Mid-palate I'm getting some violet sweets and a touch of pepper, maybe even a bit of that graphite oil thing... reminds me slightly of carbon paper, if that makes sense? Finish is medium long with a slightly acrid edge, not unpleasant though. Just adds a bit of character really. Overall quite different from what I'd normally reach for, but genuinely enjoyable. Would happily have another dram on a quiet evening 🥃
