Just had a dram that reminded me of a Five O'clock tea table – shortbread, scones and cakes at a lady's tea party, with a whisper of earl grey and bergamot. The barley base gave a soft, woody spice feel, cinnamon curling through like old wood and time. A tad delicate, almost fragile, with pollen and beeswax drifting in, plus a mocha-spoon of yogurt creaminess and hints of orange. Finished it off with a splash of rum, leaving a medium finish that felt glorious, like old glory still had a few moves left, though after the gorgeous old 8 it got a little tough. 🍯
