Blimey, this one's a real treat for the nose. 🥃 First whiff, it's fruitier than I expected, then comes this huge wave of coconut. Not the fresh kind, more like... Malibu but at cask strength? Properly intense. It's a lovely gold colour in the glass. The taste is fantastic - very vanilled, with this lovely warm oak sawdust note, and then a bit of apricot jam and even a tiny hint of strawberry jam in the back. It's quite complex for something so smooth. After a minute, you get this subtle pine wood smoke creeping in, which just gets even smokier the longer you sit with it. It's like walking into a carpenter's workshop that's next to a jam kitchen. Very classy and classic old grain whisky, matured in a perfect cask. Really, very, very good spirit. Quite nice, that. 👍
