Carsebridge is a historic single grain Scotch whisky distillery that operated in the Lowland region of Scotland from 1799 until its closure in 1983. Located in the village of Carsebridge near Alloa in Clackmannanshire, it was one of Scotland's pioneering grain whisky producers. The distillery was eventually demolished in the 1990s, making it a 'lost distillery' whose remaining casks are highly prized by collectors and connoisseurs. Carsebridge whisky was produced using column stills, creating a lighter, more delicate spirit compared to single malts. Typical flavor profiles include notes of vanilla, coconut, toffee, and soft oak, reflecting its Lowland heritage and extended maturation. Today, bottlings are extremely rare, released exclusively through independent bottlers such as Diageo's Rare & Old series, commanding premium prices in the secondary market.

Blimey, this one’s a right oddity. First sip hits you with this black chocolate richness, but then outta nowhere comes a whiff of bicycle inner tube – yeah, proper weird. The tarry side lingers, like something’s been left in the garage too long. But wait, there’s honey and chestnut honey weaving through, sweet but not cloying, with a hint of lemon peel to cut it. Rhubarb pies and fruity pies dance on the tongue, tangy and unexpected, while Funny guavas add this tropical twist that shouldn’t work but kinda does. The texture’s bigger than other grains, even older ones, and the finish? Surprisingly long, with a rubber a tad note that’s oddly comforting. Not sure what to make of it all, but it’s kept me curious till the very last drop 🥃

Well, that was unexpected. First sip hits with this chestnut honey and truffle oil combo, a bit un-called for but interesting. There's a rubber a tad note that shows up, not bad though. Then it gets more honeyed, with a hint of lemon. Honestly, it feels bigger than other grains including very old ones. Thick mouth feel for a grain, really coats the tongue. Finishes with these Jaffa cakes and fruity pies memories, like a rhubarb pie cooling on the counter. The fruity notes are toned down on the palate but the finish is surprisingly long. There’s a slight tarrry side, and that rubber lingers a bit. Kinda wild, this one. 🤔

Nose: Really hits yer with that classic peat smoke, kinda like a bonfire by the sea, but underneath there's this sweet, fruity thing goin' on. 🍎👃 Palate: Oh, wow. The smoke's still there, but it's all wrapped up in this rich, toffee sweetness. Touch of spice, maybe ginger? Feels proper warm and full in yer mouth. 🔥🥃 Finish: Long, warming finish. The smoke lingers, but it's joined by this lovely dark chocolate note. Just coats the mouth. Really moreish. A proper dram for a chilly night, that's for sure. 👍

Right, had a wee dram of this earlier down the pub. 🥃 Nose is warm, proper lovely vanilla and toasted oak. 👃 Taste? Smooth as anythin, bit of spice tickles the throat. 🔥 Finish lingers nicely, sweet like honey. Proper good stuff for a rainy evening. Might have another glass... 😅 Definately worth a try if you like it smooth. Cheers! 🍻

Right, just poured a dram. Realy smooth start, lots o’ vanilla sweetness. 🍦 Nose picks up some dried apples too. Tastes well rounded, ends a bit woody. Long finish leaves you wanting more. Proper comfort in a glass. Cheers! 🥃🇬🇧
