Whiskyspace Notes 2200

Just poured a wee dram and straight away it's hitting me with this proper leafy nose, like a walk through the woods on a crisp morning. There's a good fun mix of ripe peaches and peaches and raisins dancing about, sweet and jammy, but then outta nowhere comes this funny concoction of peppers of all kinds – proper fiery. Not sure how they've mucked with ex-Banyuls wood, but there's a dark, sticky sweetness lurking underneath. On the tongue it's all blended malt smoothness, but with a twist of gunpowder sharpness that's totally unlikely. The finish is long, leaves this odd paraffin slickness on the lips, and I'm swearin' there's a hint of cabbage in there too – weird but not awful. PXs of France sweetness pokes through, but in the most bizarre way. Took me a moment, but I love the results – it's like a mad scientist threw together a bonkers but brilliant experiment. 🥃
