Whiskyspace Notes 2200

Just poured a wee dram and straight away it's hitting me with this proper leafy nose, like a walk through the woods on a crisp morning. There's a good fun mix of ripe peaches and peaches and raisins dancing about, sweet and jammy, but then outta nowhere comes this funny concoction of peppers of all kinds – proper fiery. Not sure how they've mucked with ex-Banyuls wood, but there's a dark, sticky sweetness lurking underneath. On the tongue it's all blended malt smoothness, but with a twist of gunpowder sharpness that's totally unlikely. The finish is long, leaves this odd paraffin slickness on the lips, and I'm swearin' there's a hint of cabbage in there too – weird but not awful. PXs of France sweetness pokes through, but in the most bizarre way. Took me a moment, but I love the results – it's like a mad scientist threw together a bonkers but brilliant experiment. 🥃

This dram's got a proper gamey kick, like a hunt in the woods after a long day. The jammy sweetness hits first – apricot and peachy notes dancing with ripe peaches and raisins. There's a "Totally unlikely" twist from the Banyuls wood and cranberries, like someone threw some peppers of all kinds in there. The finish is long, with a hint of very fruity hops, leaving me thinking it's a funny concoction, but in a good fun way. Amazing how it all comes together! 🥃

This dram is a right proper surprise, I’ll be honest. At first sniff, it’s all ripe peaches and leafy stuff, like walking through an orchard after rain. But then it shifts – there’s this funny concoction of sweet jams and peaches and raisins clashing with peppers of all kinds, which sounds mad but actually works. The ex-Banyuls wood must’ve done something magical here; it’s smooth but with a long, lingering warmth that’s not usual. Love the results, though – definitely not your typical dram, more like a goodwill whisky experiment gone brilliant. Bit of basalt earthiness creeping in too, almost like licking a stone, but in a good way. And that hint of gunpowder? Proper bonkers, but I’m here for it. 🍑🔥

Honestly, first sip was a bit of a "Hate the idea" moment with that cabbage & basalt note… but then mate, it totally flipped. 🤯 Dried peaches and raisins hit you, then it’s all ripe peaches, apricot jam, and these funny, leafy hop notes. Tastes like a goodwill whisky that’s gone completely wild. Totally unlikely combo, but I love the results! The gamey, grouse note hangs in there with the gunpowder, and a long, peppery finish that’s more like peppers of all kinds. Good fun, this. 👍

Trying this blended malt with a few ice cubes on a lazy evening – it's quite a game of flavors! 😄 First, a funny concoction hits you with gunpowder and paraffin, but then it turns into good fun. Very fruity hops and apricot burst through, with a leafy vibe like walking on damp leaves. There's pepper, a red tint, and even hoisin sauce sneaking in. 🍂 Maybe hints of grouse from the countryside? The taste is long, with cranberries and jams in abundance. Feels like goodwill whisky, a nod to PXs of France. Amazing stuff! 👍
