Tasting Notes & Reviews

Expert analysis and tasting impressions

Right, poured myself a wee dram earlier. 🥃 Nose is proper peaty, like walking thru a bog on a misty morning 🌫️. Taste hits warm - honey, maybe some pear? 🍐 Definitly got that oak spice kicking in later. Finish is long... makes you wanna sit by the fire. 🪑 Quite enjoyble really, reckon I'll have another. Cheers! 🍻

Aye, gettin’ me nose in this… earthy oak right away, then nutty 🤎, a wee citric nip 🍋, and a waft of grain spice & toffee. Sip’s malty, buttery, with appley blossom 🍏 & lemon peel, then rich dark fruit – almost leathery. Hints of iodine, vanilla, and honeyed wood 🍯 creep in. Finish is peaty sweet, long and cosy, like a warm blanket. 8 or 9 summers? Who’s countin. Braw dram, no bad gear. 😉🔥

*Sniffs glass* Ooh, that's proper smoky, innit? Like a bonfire on the beach. 🏖️ Sip it... Mmm, get some honey and a bit of vanilla, cuts through the peat nicely. Smooth going down, not harsh at all. Leaves a lovely warm glow, like sittin' by the fire. Yeah, quite moreish, that. 👍

Right so this one's proper lovely 🥃 Get a lot of apple on the nose, bit of honey n vanilla too. Quite floral tbh. First sip - very smooth, almost creamy. Sweet but not too sweet y'know? Like toffee n dried fruit. There's some spice in there, ginger maybe, but it's gentle innit. Bit of smoke comes thru later, not peaty or anything, just a warm kinda smokyness. Oaky finish, quite long actually. Hints of cherry 🍒 8 years in the cask apparently - deffo comes thru in the smoothness Overall very easy drinking. Not too complex, just pleasant init. Would go nicely on a cold evening like tonite 🍂 The kind of whisky ur mates would enjoy even if they ain't whisky ppl. Nothing challengin but solid. 7.5/10 👍

Lovely dram this, init 🥃 First sip and I'm gettin' warm honey and a bit of vanilla, very smooth on the tongue. Then there's this gentle smokiness creepin' in, like a distant bonfire on a crisp autumn evening. Oaky and rich, with some nice dried fruit notes - cherries and a bit of apple maybe? The spice comes through after, ginger and a touch of cinnamon that warms you right up. Finish is long and sweet, a wee bit of toffee lingerin' there. Really lovely stuff altogether 👌 Would defo have another glass by the fire 🔥
