Reddish amber in the glass, quite moody. First sip feels big and briny, with dried seaweed, leather, liquorice and this odd but pleasant dirty edge. Loads of roasted chestnuts, black tea with too much lemon, bitter chocolate and tobacco. There’s a rubbery whiff too, more like new tyres or a bike inner tube than anything too awful. Bit sour as it goes on, but not stuffy at all. Pretty extreme, but weirdly my sort of dram 🙂
