Right then, this is a proper malt whisky, innit? 🥃 Mostly it's got this very pleasant, globally malty character to it. Quite medium in feel. The sweetness is lovely - like sweet walnut cake and a bit of Ovaltine. There's a pleasant touch of sweet beer in there, and I'm definitely getting that sherry influence on the palate. A wee touch of rubber somehow fits in alright. Yeah, a good friend for a quiet evening. This is malt whisky, alright. 😊

Got a straw-like start, then loads of honest malt coming through. Sherry’s fairly clear once I sip it, with raisins, wee marmalade, vanilla and a bit of sweet beer. Turns drier than I expected, with Ovaltine, walnut cake and just a tiny rubbery edge. Still, it feels like a pleasant old mate of a dram 🙂

Quite a pleasant dram, mostly very malty, with that Ovaltine and cappuccino sort of comfort going on. The sherry shows up more as I sip, bringing raisins, sweet walnut cake, a little marmalade and some vanilla. It gets sweeter, though it stays rather dry in the finish, with a faint earthy side and just a wee touch of rubber. Feels honest and loyal, like a good friend on a quiet evening 🙂
