Opening the bottle, I immediately get hit by this incredibly fragrant mix – like a bunch of ripe peaches and apricots right next to some apple skins and a whiff of old roses. There’s a sweetness there, reminiscent of honey and a bit of bubblegum, which is quite fun. Taking a sip, it’s immensely fruity, really. I’m imagining a huge fruit salad with melons, pink grapefruit, and those little bananas you get. There’s a spicy, peppery kick that follows, and I think I detect a slight sourness, maybe from the grapefruit. It feels ethereal and extremely fresh. The finish has a touch of oak, which is quite drying, and brings in some grassiness and a pinch of cinnamon. It’s excellent whisky – really delivers on the fruitiness but that oak and spice counterbalances it nicely, so it’s not too sweet. Highly drinkable. 🍑
