Pulled a dram last night 🤌 First hit with those bitter grasses and artichoke notes, followed by ripe pears, plums and bags of dough, long finish too. Actually a nice little aperitif if you don’t mind quite bitter indeed, not quite an easy drop mind, leaves you thinking of pale white wine and autumn walks. Fine stuff but still feels a bit solid Ben Nevis young, would’ve liked it smoother but water shouldn’t be needed for this one.

Had a swig and it felt like a bite of plain dough with a hint of bitter grasses, almost like the first sip of a pale white wine that shouldn't need any water. The roughness was there, a chalky aftertaste that reminded me of old leaves and a bit of artichoke, while plums and pears tried to break through. It’s not an easy drop – a bit too rough and quite bitter indeed, with a touch of bitter almonds that gets a little yeastier and sootier the longer it sits. Still, a nice little aperitif, fine for a quiet evening, even if it feels a tad too young for my palate. 😊

This one’s got a fair bit going on – starts with this yeasty, almost doughy richness that’s proper solid, like a Ben Nevis on a rainy day. There’s a weird combo of artichokes and pears floating about, which I didn’t expect, but it works. Bitter grasses and almonds kick in early, quite bitter indeed, and the chalkiness lingers like you’ve been sucking on a slate. It’s a bit young, mind – rough around the edges, that raw roughness needs time to mellow. The sooty, yeastier notes build as it sits, not unpleasant, but maybe not for everyone. A pale white wine kind of finish, and that chalk aftertaste sticks around longer than I’d like. Not quite an easy drop, but as a baby dram, it’s got potential. Just don’t go adding water – it’s got bags of character already. Fine for a wee dram by the fire, leaves you thinking of autumn leaves and overripe plums 🥃

Just had a dram of this one, and honestly, it’s a bit of a mixed bag. First sip hits with a proper bitter kick – quite bitter indeed, like chewing on some bitter grasses mixed with artichokes. There’s a chalkiness that lingers, not the nicest chalk in the aftertaste, sort of like licking a slate. The body’s got bags of dough and a roughness that makes me think it’s too young, needs more time to mellow. Yeasty notes come through strong, gets yeastier and sootier as it sits, reminds me of a pale white wine left out too long. Pears and plums try to peek through but get drowned out by the bitter almonds and that solid Ben Nevis character. Not quite an easy drop – leaves a strange dryness, like tannins from leaves or something. Water shouldn’t be needed, but I found myself reaching for a splash to soften the edges. Fine for a cheeky aperitif, but not my usual go-to. Baby steps and all that, innit? 🥃

一开始觉得像个开胃酒，有点意思。 后来…… 麦芽发酵的味道出来了，还有点洋蓟芯的回味。像粗面包面团，带点苦杏仁和青草气。 口感不太顺滑，挺扎实的，尾韵有点粉笔灰的感觉？ 🤔 不是容易喝的那种，毕竟还是太年轻了。喝了有点上头，但还挺特别。
