Towiemore Single Malt Whisky

Towiemore Distillery was established in 1897 in the parish of Botriphnie, near Dufftown in the heart of Speyside, during the apex of the Victorian whisky boom. Built by James Moir & Sons Ltd., the distillery operated for just three decades, navigating the turbulent waters of the Pattison Crisis (1900) and World War I restrictions before closing in 1927. Despite its brief existence, Towiemore earned a distinguished reputation for producing exceptional pure malt whisky of remarkable finesse, drawing water from the springs of Towie Hill. Its spirit exemplified classic Speyside characteristics—elegant, fruity, and floral. Today, Towiemore stands as one of Scotland's revered 'lost distilleries,' with remaining bottlings being extraordinarily rare and highly coveted by collectors, commanding significant prices at auction and representing a tangible piece of Scotch whisky heritage.
