Miyagikyo Distillery, nestled in the verdant hills of Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, represents the visionary expansion of Nikka Whisky, founded in 1969 by Masataka Taketsuru, the father of Japanese whisky. Contrasting sharply with the robust, maritime-influenced Yoichi Distillery in Hokkaido, Miyagikyo was deliberately sited to produce a delicate, fruity, and elegant Highland-style whisky.
