Lossit Whisky Blended

Lossit, founded in 1817, stands as one of Islay's most significant lost distilleries. As the island's largest whisky producer during the industry's formative years, it operated for half a century before falling silent in 1867. The distillery's story embodies Islay's remarkable transformation from a remote smugglers' outpost to a powerhouse of Scotch whisky production. Lossit's legacy lives on through its rare remaining bottles, which capture the essence of 19th-century Islay character—heavily peated, maritime-influenced, and crafted with the island's signature robust style. Today, Lossit represents a crucial chapter in Islay's whisky heritage, bridging the island's illicit past and its current status as the world's most revered peated whisky region.
