Oooh, that first nose is just... salty, medicinal, almost like a bit of mercurochrome. But then it opens up into this incredibly clean, pure thing. Like a whiff of old Riesling, then seaweed smoke and a drop of real absinthe. Wow, the minerality on this is utterly magnificent. It feels coastal, proper Ardbeg-coastal. There's a light tobacco note, pine cones smoke... mangos are joining the dancing later on, which is mad but brilliant. 🍂 The mouthfeel is just so clean, pure gold. That salty tang is there the whole time, like seashells on a beach. A bit of that Laphroaig-medicinal thing creeps in, but it's well integrated. There's a hint of new leather couch, maybe a whisper of bicycle inner tube, but in a good, interesting way. It leaves you with a lasting impression of propolis and that beautiful, pure salinity. More like a memory of an old whisky than anything modern. Utterly magnificent.
