Just had a dram that’s proper lively, like a cheeky young dram. Starts off sweet with a hint of vanilla fudge and coconut, reminds me of them coconut balls you get at seaside shops. Then there’s this sharp, tart kick—like biting into a Lemon Tarte or sucking on a mezcal lollipop, makes your mouth water a bit. The malt’s there, all sweet barley and malted barley, but not too heavy, sort of medium-bodied. Finish’s got that grassy, almost white wine tang, with a whiff of gooseberry and green apples. No whipped cream business here, just clean and crisp. Feels like a proper spring evening in a glass, if that makes sense. Fine stuff, does the job nicely.
