Whiskyspace Notes 2218

Just poured a dram and got hit straight away with a smoky charcoal vibe, like a beach bonfire at dusk. There's a salty tea note curling in, plus a whisper of umami that reminds me of pickled sweet onions and a bit of olives. The malt feels deep, almost woody, with hints of old leather and scoria underneath. As it opens, you get those tiny elements — candied lemon, waxes, a touch of gold, and a funky herbal leafiness that keeps unfolding. It’s hugely complex, needs a lot of your time to really settle, but after the last drop you’re still tasting autumn leaves and a faint farmy earthiness, like digging up Jerusalem artichokes in a meadow. Absolutely amazing and unstoppable, like an old Mercedes‑Benz diesel cruising through a misty field. 🌿
