Right, poured a dram last night. First thing I got was this waft of coal smoke, very obvious, like a distant bonfire. Then underneath, there's a definite peaty and salty tang, really quite sooty on the nose. Taking a sip, it's quite interesting. There's a porridge-y, almost stodgy texture, not unpleasant. I get this wee feeling of morello cherries, but it's a bit sour, and then a little salty, a little brine comes through, reminding me of the coast. Funnily enough, I thought of lapsang souchong again, and maybe some blood oranges on the finish. There's a hint of something green, like cassis leaf tea, and oddly, smoked gherkins? That's not a common profile at all. The Supertuscans don't feel too much compared to this, it's much more rugged. Overall, pretty good. Medium body, quite a lot going on. It's an interesting one to sip on. 👍

Just tried this whisky – medium body with a wee hint of morello cherries. 😊 A little salty, like brine, and it reminds me of smoked gherkins, smoky and a bit pickled. There's a peppery beer vibe, quite sooty, like cold lapsang souchong. Sour and straw notes come through, making it not a common profile. Honestly, a bit un-nice at first, but pretty good overall. Supertuscans don’t feel too much, so this has its own charm. 😕

That straw colour’s quite inviting, isn’t it? 👀 First sniff got me thinking of cold lapsang souchong, that smoky tea vibe. Then it opens up to blood oranges and something... porridge-y? Weirdly comforting. Palate’s rather warm, a bit buttery. There’s a little salty tang, almost like peaty and salty sea air mixed with smoked gherkins. Interesting combo. 🥒 Finish brings a wee feeling of morello cherries, just a hint, really. Overall, pretty good – medium body, nothing too heavy. Quite sooty in a nice way. Solid pour. 🥃

Quite mellow, with a bit of sweet spice and soft oak. Feels warm, slightly smoky, and a touch fruity — easy enough to sip after dinner 🥃 Nice wee cosy dram.

Quite cosy on the nose — a bit of honey, soft fruit and gentle spice. Feels warm and rounded, with a wee smoky edge near the end 🥃 Easy to sip, proper comforting on a chilly evening.
