Honestly, this one's a bit much for me. The nose hits you with this frankly rye-ish and bourbony kick, but underneath it’s sweeter than the sweetest sweeties — I mean, bags of fructose, marshmallows, and a proper glassful of Cointreau thrown in for good measure. Deep amber with red hues, looks lovely. The taste is… well, it’s extremely sweet, almost liqueurish. I get tinned pineapple, sultanas, maybe some white chocolate, and these extreme notes of toasted wood that just keep coming. Very oaky, toasted, and there’s that liquorice allsorts thing again. A high ABV for sure, you can feel the heat. The finish is medium long, with the same liqueurish/toasted notes lingering. Really spectacular, but just not my style. Lovers of that kind of profile will adore this — it’s perfect in that aggressive, sweet/fruity way. I can almost see how liqueur makers could produce something similar without needing 37 years. Very good for sure, but a tad too much for me. 🥃

Deep amber in the glass, really rich and sticky. It’s sweeter than the sweetest sweeties, all white chocolate, marshmallows, sultanas and pineapple drops, with a big splash of Cointreau vibe 🍊 Loads of toasted oak too, almost bourbon-like and a bit rye-ish. Very good for sure, but honestly a tad too much for me — proper liqueurish, and just not quite my style.
