Pōkeno Single Cask 2020 Single Malt Whisky

Pōkeno Distillery, New Zealand's premier single malt whisky producer, is nestled in a remote, mist-shrouded valley on the North Island, encircled by ancient volcanic peaks. The distillery draws its pristine water from pure volcanic springs that filter through the region's volcanic rock, creating a unique mineral profile. Established in 2017, Pōkeno has rapidly become New Zealand's largest single malt whisky distillery while maintaining artisanal principles. They employ traditional small-batch production methods featuring extended fermentation periods and slow, careful distillation in copper pot stills. The whisky is crafted using locally grown barley from family farms across New Zealand's fertile South Island, combined with the volcanic terroir of the North Island to create a distinctly New Zealand expression of single malt whisky.
