Right, had a dram of this one last night. Poured into the glass, it's got this lovely gold colour that catches the light just so. On the nose, I'm getting dried apricots straight away, maybe even some of that mirabelle jam sweetness. There's something a bit like Chenin blanc in there too, which is quite interesting. A hint of bread as well, you know, like fresh sourdough crust. Taking a sip now - it's rather thick in the mouth, well textured, coats the tongue nicely. The sweetness is there but it's tight, well-composed, malty. Then comes the apricots again, fresh ones this time, and a bit of ground coffee bitterness that balances things out. Gets a little drier towards the end, a touch peppery. There's something salty lingering too, and maybe just the faintest rubbery note - not unpleasant mind you. The finish does trail off a bit, little dying if I'm honest, but it's still quite enjoyable for a quiet evening dram 🙂

Hmm, poured this one and gave it a good look – that lovely gold colour. Right away I'm getting dried apricots, almost like apricot jam… and something bready? Like fresh bread near the oven. A bit of that mirabelle jam sweetness too. Actually, was expecting more of a punchy Chenin blanc vibe, but it's not quite that – maybe softer. Kinda reminds me of how the old Ardbegs used to have these notes too. On the palate, there's a bit of raw chocolate and ground coffee coming through, along with a little drier, peppery finish. I did get this faint rubbery touch – like a discreet bicycle inner tube note – but it faded. Almost like tinned sardines in the back, but not in a bad way? Just there. Overall it's close to the malt, really… no problemo. 🥃

Ooh, this one's rather thick and well textured on the tongue! First sip, I'm getting a proper hit of ground coffee and raw chocolate – quite robust. There's a curious note that reminds me a bit of tinned sardines, but honestly, no problemo. I don't mind it. Yeah, there are some bits of rubber indeed, but it’s all gold in the end. Sweet, yet not too sweet, you know? Like mirabelle jam spread on toast, with some dried apricots thrown in. There’s a discreet rubbery touch that keeps it interesting, close to bread in a way. It’s a tight, well-composed sweet maltiness overall – not unpleasant at all. Just a wee citrusness lingering in the background to keep things fresh. 👍

Just had a dram and there's a little salty kick straight off. It's got this tinned sardines vibe, but honestly, it works! Then sweetness comes through like mirabelle jam – sweet yet not too sweet. The texture is rather thick and well textured, really close to bread. I'm getting drier raisins and dried apricots, with a wee citrusness in the background. Tight, well-composed sweet maltiness all the way. Oh, and bits of rubber indeed, a discreet rubbery touch that reminds me of older peated malts. Not the Chenin bomb I expected, more like subtle Chenin blanc. A little drier and peppery as it sits. Raw chocolate and ground coffee notes pop up too. It's close to the malt and close to yeast, with a little dying character on the finish. No problemo – we're safe! Pours a nice gold. 😊

Poured myself a dram tonight. First whiff... that familiar 'bicycle inner tube' note, a bit like old Islay drams sometimes. Rather thick on the palate, well textured. Sweet, but not too sweet. Gets me thinking of dried apricots. And there's a distinct note of tinned sardines – that oily, savoury quality. A little salty too, which I quite like. The core is this tight, well-composed sweet maltiness. To be honest, it's not the chenin bomb that I had expected at all. There's a wee citrusness in the background, though. 😅 Has that discreet rubbery touch, feels close to the malt itself. The finish? Gets a little drier, peppery, with a hint of ground coffee. Decent stuff. We're safe here. 👍
