Kaiyo Whisky Blended

Kaiyō, meaning 'ocean' in Japanese, is an innovative Japanese blended malt whisky that undergoes a unique maritime maturation process. After initial aging in rare Mizunara oak casks—Japanese oak prized for imparting delicate notes of incense, sandalwood, and coconut—the whisky embarks on a three-month sea voyage from Japan to the United Kingdom. During this ocean journey, constant motion, temperature fluctuations, and sea air interact with the spirit, creating a distinctive flavor profile that balances traditional Japanese craftsmanship with bold maritime character. The result is a premium whisky with complex layers of tropical fruit, vanilla, spice, and subtle saline notes—a true testament to the art of maturation at sea.
