Just had a sip... after just thirty seconds, this feels quite unusual. Doesn’t quite smell right at first—almost got that Bovril and bouillons vibe, like a salty soup. Then there’s thyme, pine needles, and something like puréed chestnuts or marrow underneath. Truth lies on the palate, they say... but it’s sour and bitter, a bit like bittersweet sauces. Tends to become very dry very quickly. Nice parsley note tries to lift it, but that conceited extra 1.7% couldn’t add much powah. Feels very weak overall, honestly. Reminds me a bit of Game of Thrones—trying to be epic, but it’s a bit of a botched job. Not very Diageo, if you know what I mean. The juice in the bottle is calling for ice, maybe even some meats to go with it... but yeah, Bad sign when you’re thinking that hard about pairing, right? Got off the beaten tracks, I’ll give it that. From a very well-respected leading whisky company, you’d expect more... but here we are.

Blimey, that bottle's a real eyesore – couldn't add much powah to it, felt pretty weak right away. The whisky itself? Better than the story they spin, honestly. Got these notes of pine needles and thyme, like some forest walk, and a bit of marrow with salty soups, but extremely cardboardy at times. 😅 Reminded me of old papers and gold, with a touch of Game of Thrones drama. Not your typical big-company style – more like a conceited extra 1.7% that doesn’t quite fit. After just thirty seconds, I was calling for ice to smooth it out. Nice parsley on the nose, though. 👃 Overall, got off the beaten tracks with this one – medium body, but those puréed chestnuts and that savory, meaty undertone... hmm, interesting. Very weak, but alright for a casual sip. 🥃

Right, just had a sip. Wow. 🥃 Starts off kinda smoky, yeah? Like a proper bonfire. Then it gets all sweet... butterscotch maybe? And there's a bit of that woody vanilla thing going on. 🌳 The finish is long and warm. Bit of spice at the end, too. 🔥 Really smooth, actually. No harshness at all. Nice one. 👍

Nose is all smoky chocolate and... 🥃 Taste oaky vanilla, bit of dry leather. Finish long, with toasted cereal notes. Quite warming, feels like autumn leaves. Wait, is there a hint of... green apple? 🍏 Nah, probably just my imagination.

Really love the smoky vibes with a bit of sweetness. 🍂🔥 The aftertaste lingers nicely, kinda like warm caramel. Sometimes get hints of fruitiness too, like apples or somethin'. 😊 So smooth, feels proper cozy on a cold night. Note: A bit of peat comes through, not too strong though. 🥃✨
