Lovely golden dram, quite a tropical feel straight away — pineapple, banana cake, a few soft flowers 🌼 Then it gets a bit savoury, like curry leaf, sage, ham fat and peat smoke, which sounds odd but works rather nicely. Long finish, with a funny sweet-smoky tension that keeps hanging about.

Lovely golden dram, quite sweet and agreeable from the first sip. I get banana cake, mango and a bit of citrus, then it turns a touch savoury, like ham fat, curry spices and greasy mineral oils. The peat smoke hangs about strongly in the aftertaste, quite long really. Sweet and complex overall, splendid in parts, though the finish feels a tiny bit of a letdown 🙂

Right so, poured a dram. First whiff? That familiar peat smoke, but it’s got this... caressing quality, like a warm hug from an old friend. Taste-wise, boom—immediate tropical notes. Juicy mango and papaya, totally unexpected. There’s a lovely gold colour in the glass, and you get these delicate flowers and spices underneath it all. Really beautiful tension between the fruit and the smoke. The finish is where it gets serious. The peat comes back strongly in the aftertaste, but it’s not a letdown, it’s brilliant. It’s quite long, lingering with that fruitiness. Tastes like a matured 17-year-old, complex and satisfying. Overall, it’s just wonderful. A tropical, floral twist on something classic. 🥃😊

Tried this dram last weekend – wow, what a nose! Got hit with overripe papaya and pineapple first, almost tropical 🍍, but then some savoury curry spices and a hint of ham fat crept in. Interesting combo. The palate’s quite oily, almost greasy in texture, with sweet golden syrup, more mango, and that banana cake note everyone talks about. A bit of sunflower oil and mineral oil too, if I’m honest. The smoke’s there but gentle, like distant peat with some sage herbiness. Hmm, though the finish was… a letdown? Expected more. It’s sweet and complex upfront, but the aftertaste just fades out strongly on citus peel and a tiny bitter edge. For a 17-year-old, I was hoping for a longer, more agreeable end. Still, that tropical vibe’s pretty unique 🏖️.
