This one's got a proper complex and expressive character, really draws you in. Starts with these white berries and ripe pears, sweet but not cloying, like a summer hedgerow in a glass. Then it gets interesting – green olives and anchovies sneak in, giving this salty, almost umami twist that’s proper intriguing. The barley comes through with a nutty depth, and there’s a hint of cane sweetness underneath. It coats the tongue in this exceptionally fat, creamy way, but stays clean and white – no heavy smoke or peat here. The finish lingers long, like a good chat that you don’t want to end. Proper moreish stuff.
