Quite a medium bodied dram, light gold in the glass. I get touches of fresh teak and a bit of varnish, then oranges and some preserved fruit coming through. There's a hint of kirschwasser and a whisper of liquorice, with those violets in the aftertaste like sweets. Maybe a drop of water wakes it up, but be careful not to overdo it. In my opinion it’s got that malty, doughy feel you sometimes get from a Heaven Hill, with a hint of rye and a touch of marmalade on toast. Not the best swimmer ever, but still really good 😊

Nice dram, got tiny touches of rye up front, then a lovely whiff of violets and crystallised petals. There's a hint of pancake sweetness, some marmalade and orange zest peeking through, with a dash of nutmeg and cinnamon. A bit of liquorice and sawdust in the background, and those violets linger in the aftertaste. It's medium bodied, a little malty and doughy, maybe not the best swimmer ever but water really wakes it up. Still really good. 🥃

第一口有点像嚼全麦面包渣，还有点发面团的味道，但别急，加点水试试。嘿，还真醒了点，像刚出锅的薄饼上抹了糖浆，又有点樱桃白兰地的清甜。 过了一会儿，橙子皮和金橘果酱的香气冒出来，还有点像果酱涂在烤面包上。后劲里藏了紫罗兰糖果的甜味，嚼着嚼着，仿佛能看到结晶的花瓣碎片。 中间夹了点漆器和新榆木家具的味道，有点像刚买的花园椅子那股子木头香。最后留下的，是丁香和肉桂的暖调，像圣诞节的香料袋子。整体不算太张扬，但喝着舒服，就是有点像个安静的家伙，不太爱说话。

A lovely dram this one – light gold in the glass, and right off the bat you’re hit with this proper pancake vibe, sweet and doughy like a Sunday breakfast. There’s marmalade and oranges dancing about, with a hint of grapefruit sharpness cutting through. The palate’s got that malty richness, think wholegrain bread and a touch of rye, but it’s the spices that catch you – nutmeg and cinnamon doing their thing. Now, I’ve added a drop of water here and it’s opened up a bit, though I’d say be careful not to drown it. You get these preserved fruit notes, maybe some apple, but it’s not the most complex swimmer ever if I’m honest. There’s a whisper of teak and varnish in the background, odd but not unpleasant. The finish is where it gets interesting – those crystallised violets linger, sweet and floral, while a bit of sawdust and oak hangs about. Still really good though, not the most showy but solid in its own way. Just don’t expect fireworks – it’s more of a cozy fireside sort of dram. 🥃

Nice, quite a complex one this. At first sniff, I got those lovely warm pancake notes right away, with a bit of maple syrup there too, kinda like a weekend breakfast. 🥞 After a tiny sip, it opened up into more fruit – ripe apples and some tangy orange marmalade. There's a interesting bit of fresh wood, maybe like teak on a new park bench. Water seems to work well here, wakes up more of the grapefruit and a whisper of those sweet violet flavours. In my opinion, it could show a touch less of the straight oak character, but it's still really good. A medium-weight dram, I'd say. It reminds me a bit of an older bottling I tried once, maybe a tiny bit less impressive, but a very enjoyable pour nonetheless.
