Deep gold in the glass, quite full-bodied and a tad sweet, with honey, maple syrup and roasted nuts coming through straight away. There’s still a little bourbon-ish American oak about it, plus nutmeg, grey pepper and fresh fir wood. Bit surprising, honestly — powerful but swims beautifully with a splash of water. Long finish too, with sherry, caraway and a lovely varnish thing hanging about. Most enjoyable 🥃
