Tonight's pour had this intriguing lightness at first, almost shy, then suddenly there was a proper St. Magdalene character peeking through. Got a bit of a cigar smoke vibe right off the bat, but then it's like... chalk dust and wet concrete? Oddly compelling. The palate does this saucy orange thing, really bouncing around with minerals and some bouillon-like spice. Reminds me of a good roast duck à l’orange glaze. Then it shifts into marmalade territory, and you get that classic saltiness underneath. There's something deeply old-school about it, like finding a bottle of old Johnnie Walker Black in your grandad's cabinet. The malt really carries everything here, feels like a thunderous old blend. And it just stays with you, curiously persistent. I keep thinking of the rafters in a very old warehouse, this kind of photolytic, sun-on-old-wood tang. It's got that venerable blend oiliness, with drifts of wax and earthy teas. The peat is there, but it's ancient peat, you know? A bit like beehive honey mixed in. Oddly reminds me of a bustling Bangkok street corner for some reason, maybe the spices? The grain character is totally absent here, all heart and soul. Like a stormy, old pu-erh tea. Just sumptuously old-school. ☕️

Just nosed this and oh blimey, it's like a two-penny travelogue—straight to a Bangkok street corner. There’s this thunderous old blend vibe, a bit of a photolytic tang cutting through. The texture’s got drifts of wax, classically salty too. Looks like liquid gold in the glass. Taste-wise, beehive honey up front, then it gets a boost to 45% vol. that really wakes you up. Ancient peat underneath, and then orange bouncing back, almost like a stormy old pu-erh tea. The grain is nowhere to be found—it's all about the malt content doing the heavy lifting. There’s a jolt of spicy beef broth, loaded with chalk and concrete dust, marmalade jus doing a tango with mineral notes. Later, earthy teas come through, a rogue swarm of flavours. A puff of cigar smoke lingers, like finding glossies banished in your attic. It’s curiously persistent, like rafters half a century ago. Sumptuously old-school, and then it briskly corrects you on the finish. 🥃

Warm and malty, with honey, dried fruit and a wee bit of oak spice. Feels smooth and cosy, then turns slightly peppery with a soft, lingering sweetness 🥃✨

Ooh,this one’s a proper treat! 👃 Smells like a cozy bonfire mixed with salted caramel and a bit of vanilla fudge. Tastes lush – got that smoky peat hit but softened by some stewed fruit and a hint of black pepper. Leaves a lovely warm, spiced finish. Really comforting, like a dram by the fire on a rainy night. 🥃✨

Nose: Smoky 🌫️ with a hint of peat, right? Palate: Vanilla and honey 🍯, maybe a bit of oak. Finish: Spicy and warm 🔥, innit.
