Cameron Bridge stands as one of Scotland's most historically significant and largest grain whisky distilleries. Located in Windygates, Fife, its origins trace to the 17th-century Haig family dynasty—Robert Haig allegedly operated one of Scotland's earliest documented distilleries, famously reprimanded in 1655 for Sabbath distilling. In 1824, John Haig established Cameron Bridge, which became the cradle of continuous column still technology through cousin Robert Stein's innovations. Today, as Diageo's primary grain whisky production hub, it yields over 30 million liters annually from multiple column stills, supplying spirit for iconic blends like Johnnie Walker and J&B. Single grain expressions such as Cameron Brig and the modern Haig Club showcase its light, vanilla-forward character. Following the 1877 merger that created Distillers Company Ltd and 1919 acquisition, the distillery underwent a £9 million refurbishment in the 1990s, reopening in 2000 as a state-of-the-art facility. Using wheat-dominant mash bills and pristine Fife spring water, Cameron Bridge represents the perfect marriage of historic legacy and modern efficiency in Scotch whisky production.

This dram is quite superb – the first thing that hits me is the tropical fruits, like tinned pineapples and maybe a touch of banana jam. It’s extremely fruity but in a very easy way, not cloying at all. There’s a lovely creamy mouth feel, almost like a sponge cake soaked in vanilla custard, with a hint of malty sweetness underneath. The Cuban style influence gives it that light rum vibe, which I find really pleasant. A bit of varnish on the nose, but it’s more intriguing than off-putting, and the finish is quite long, lingering with milk chocolate and shortbread biscuits. Proper lovely stuff – it’s got a lot more happening than your average dram, and that un-malted barley adds a nice twist to the malty side. Definitely one to savour slowly 🥃

A smooth, creamy sip that feels like vanilla and milk chocolate melting into a bite of shortbread. There's a lively burst of mango and tinned pineapples that soon gives way to a buttery sponge‑cake vibe, almost like banana jam on toast. The malt side is big but easy, with a hint of light rum and a faint Cuban‑style spice in the background. It hangs on a pretty long finish, a glossy varnish of gold that’s both oily and very pleasant – like biting into a tropical fruit cake while the room hums with a subtle, active wood note. 😊

This one’s a proper treat – pours a lovely gold, and the nose hits you with all sorts of tropical vibes. Big, bold flavours of mangos and tinned pineapples come out straight away, with a creamy, almost cake-like texture that’s really moreish. There’s a hint of milk chocolate and vanilla in there, and that oily mouth feel just coats the tongue. The finish is quite long, with a touch of varnish and something really lively and fruity – like banana jam and a splash of light rum. Very Irish and Cuban in style, if that makes sense. Superb stuff, honestly – just so easy to sip and enjoy 🍍

Blimey, this one’s lively from the get-go. 🍍 On the nose, it’s like opening a tin of pineapple rings – that syrupy, tropical rush – followed by very ripe bananas and a hint of creamy vanilla. Really pleasant. The mouth feel is quite superb – oily and full. It’s big and very fruity, with mangos and more tropical fruits dancing around. There’s this lovely, rich shortbread and sponge cake thing happening, almost like a tropical fruit cake. A touch of light rum and that active wood note keeps it interesting. Very easy to enjoy, with a malty side that grounds it all. The finish is quite long, with the pineapples coming back out and a final whisper of milk chocolate and banana jam. 🍌 Absolutely moreish.

Crikey, this one's a real fruit bomb. 🍌 Immediately I get that banana jam and tinned pineapples, it's like a tropical fruit salad. Very fruity indeed. The texture is lovely and oily, with a nice malty side coming through. There's a vanilla sweetness mixed with a bit of sponge cake and milk chocolate. A very easy and pleasant sipper. I'd say it's rather big but lively on the palate. The oak influence is active, giving it a bit of a Cuban style, light rum vibe. The finish is quite long and superb. Really enjoy this one. 👍
