Right, this one’s got a wee bit of little angelica on the nose, quite soft, but then the oak comes through oaky than expected — gives it a drier spine. Touches of candied ginger surface later, subtle, alongside a light and fresh fruitiness that’s almost greener, like unripe pear maybe.
Body’s a little less full than I’d braced for, which does overshadow this very nice coastal character at first. But then those fresh coastal notes kick in properly, proper sea air and a faint saline tang, it’s most pleasant, really. Mid-palate finds a little green tea and fresh vanilla, weaving into light honey just at the edges.
Finish is medium length, more of that green, herbal tea vibe lingering with the ghost of ginger. Not a big dram, but easy and smile-making. 🌊🍯
