Whiskyspace Notes 2249

Poured a pale full gold dram that feels surprisingly lower strength for a summer evening – gentle orange blossom and honey on the nose, with a whisper of dried pears and figs. A touch of hazelnut liqueur and beeswax gives it a soft, almost creamy bite, while a faint celeriac earthiness lingers in the aftertaste. Subtle yet assertive, it’s like sipping sunshine in a glass 🍯🌸

There's something oddly comforting about this dram in summer – it’s got that curiously gentle edge, like a quiet chat over the garden fence. The first nose hits with orange blossom and honey, sweet but not cloying, maybe a touch of beeswax lingering like old books. On the tongue, it’s all delicate layers – dried figs and pears weaving through, some toffee sweetness, even a whisper of parsnip rootiness. Not too long on the palate, but it leaves this soft warm oak trail, almost medicinally coastal, like sea salt on skin after a breeze. Reminds me of those honey-drenched oriental pastries my gran used to bake, with a hint of grapefruit sharpness to keep things grounded. The hazelnut liqueur note sneaks in late, nutty and rich, but it’s the sort of whisky you sip with abandon – easygoing yet somehow still assertive. Ends clean, with dried fruits dancing in the finish. Proper moreish stuff.

The first sip hits with this lovely, not-too-long warmth—like a soft blanket on a summer evening. There's a real medley of dried fruits and figs dancing around, sweet and chewy, while the orange blossom honey adds this delicate floral kiss. I can taste the coconut and grapefruit zing, oddly refreshing, and a curious hint of rosewater that’s neither perfumey nor medicinal, just a gentle coastal whisper. The beeswax gives it this smooth, waxy body, like toffee-dipped nuts, and the parsnip and root veg notes ground it with earthy sweetness. It’s assertive but curiously gentle, finishes with a lingering aftertaste of oriental pastries and dried pears—properly moreish. A dram that’s full gold in colour and in character, mate. 🌊🍯

A lovely dram this one. Hits you with a curiously gentle sweetness first – dried figs and orange blossom honey dancing together, like something from an oriental pastry shop. There's a hint of grapefruit and toffee lurking in the background, not too bold but definitely assertive enough to keep things interesting. The finish is soft warm oak and beeswax, medicinally coastal side like a sea breeze through a spice rack. Sip with abandon and it's very good, though the aftertaste doesn't linger not too long. Reminds me of summer evenings, warm and inviting, with a touch of root vegetables and coconut weaving through. Proper brilliant, that 🤗

Poured myself a dram on a warm evening and wow, this is like liquid summer 🌞 First thing I get is this gorgeous orange blossom honey sweetness, with some dried pears and figs coming through nicely. There's a subtle rosewater thing going on too, almost like those delicate oriental pastries you'd find in a good bakery. The beeswax note is really lovely, gives it this soft, rounded feel. Lower strength but honestly doesn't need to be stronger - it's curiously gentle in the best way. A touch of hazelnut liqueur warmth creeps in as you keep sipping. What surprised me was this faint medicinally coastal side hiding in the background, like a sea breeze drifting through. And there's something earthy underneath - root vegetables maybe? Celeriac? Sounds odd but it works, adds a bit of depth. The dried fruits and coconut linger, though the finish is not too long. Just enough to make you want another sip. Really pleasant stuff for a summer evening, honestly quite a delicacy 🥃
