Blimey 🥃 说真的这瓶刚尝到的头一下先是挺冲的葛缕子面包配肉桂和姜的打头香，还混着点撒了大量奶油的香气，接着就是浓得呛人的橡木味儿直往上顶，像嚼了一嘴刚削的铅笔屑、干透了的锯末，还有点薰衣草的淡香飘着，底下藏着点枫糖浆的甜和椰子奶油的滑，但越喝越觉得橡木味太重了，完全抢了其他风味的风头，收尾干得很，像泡得有点久的浓茶，还带点粗粝的渣感，苦可可的味也留在舌根，整体是漂亮的金色，就是桶放得太过了，典型的橡木桶汁本桶了属于是🥴

Poured a wee dram last night, that gorgeous deep gold in the glass 🥃 Straight off you get that gritty pencil shavings smell, like you just sharpened a million yellow pencils, plus super dry over-infused tea like the teabag’s been stewing for an hour. First sip’s just bags and bags of cinnamon hitting your tongue, then the oak just barrels in – sawdust, so very oaky it almost masks the little hint of coconut cream and soft lavender hiding at the back. Medium body, proper dry finish. Bit of a chaotic mix of flavours but does the trick after a long day tbh 🤷♂️

Blimey, this dram’s proper oaky from the get-go, right? 🤯 Medium body, rather spicy arrival that opens up nicely, then it turns very dry, super gritty through the finish tbh. You get that bitter cocoa first, then a little whiff of lavender and pencil shavings on the nose before the oak storms in. Typical oak juice, loads of it — frankly it’s a bit over-oaked, more and more oak gets in the way of the other flavours. There’s a hint of coconut cream and that gold colour’s proper lovely, though, plus hints of caraway bread and bags and bags of cinnamon on the mid-palate, with that sawdusty drying note hanging about at the end. It’s better vatted this cask to calm all that oak down a bit, if you ask me! Eh, it’s okay, just a tad too woody for my usual weekend sipper vibe 🤷

Poured a glass after work yesterday, proper lovely deep gold colour, that’s a nice start 🥃 Sniff it and straight off you get those bright orange zests, bitter oranges too, plus a soft whiff of violets and lavender. Then that very marmalade-y hit, bits of raspberry jam notes peeking through, even a little citric zing. Sip it and there’s smooth caramel first, then a little rye kick, black tea depth. Not buying all this oak everyone goes on about mind, it’s got way more action going on, way rounder than I expected. Finishes rather long, clove-y aftertaste lingering, just a tiny bitter edge that stops it being too sickly. Proper nice, would have another glass tonight tbh 😌

Took a sip and immediately hit with this rather spicy arrival, like a cinnamon bun with a kick. Then lavender and caraway bread came through, oddly comforting but a bit odd. The oak’s really very oaky, almost like drinking typical oak juice from a pencil case – sawdust and pencil shavings everywhere. Coconut cream tries to soften it, but more and more oak gets in the way, frankly over-oaked. Bitter cocoa and drying finish left me reaching for water. Gold in the glass, but the body’s medium and gritty, not smooth. Over-infused tea vibes too, like it’s been steeped too long. Rather spicy arrival sticks around, but the oak’s just too much, honestly. Not my usual dram. 😕
